The new executive members of Women In Technical Education And Development (WITED) Nigeria Ekiti State Polytechnic, Iṣan Ekiti chapter have been inaugurated at a ceremony held at the conference hall of the Polytechnic.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Johnson Kayode Adesodun, Rector of Ekiti State Polytechnic, Iṣan Ekiti, emphasized the importance of female participation in technological innovation. Prof. Adesodun was represented by the Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Johnson Ayodeji Akerele.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. T.T. Akande, former Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti. Dr. Akande's speech, titled "Inspiring Female Inclusion in Innovation and Technology Advancement," highlighted the crucial role women play in driving technological progress.
The event also included a health talk focused on women’s health and wellness. Dr. Omolola Àjàyí, an obstetrician and gynecologist, was represented by Dr. May Ugbodaga, a family physician.
Inaugurating the excos members, the national Coordinator Dr Princess Regina Amadi represented by Dr Adijat Bukola Ayelabegan, the national vice coordinator North Central, urged the them to steer the ship of the association with utmost sincerity and ensure to contribute their quota in the development of the Ekiti State Polytechnic Iṣan Ekiti.

Mrs. K.K. Onipede – Chief Whip
The ceremony marked a significant step towards enhancing women's involvement in technical education and development at the Polytechnic.
